Bismarck Parks and Recreation District needs you to provide input and ideas. Four favorite Bismarck facilities are being studied -- Hillside Pool; Schaumberg Arena; World War Memorial Building; and Capital Racquet and Fitness Center. Hillside Pool is nearly 60 years old, and Schaumberg Ice Arena was built in 1974. All are being reviewed to determine future use.
"The facilities we have we need to make enhancements to them -- but we also need to be open. If we come across a good idea; if we need to take a look at re purposing that facility, replacing it somewhere else -- I think those options need to be considered," says Randy Bina, Executive Director of Bismarck Parks and Recreation District.
Right now, Parks and Rec says they're in "listening mode." If you want your voice heard, go to bisparks.org and complete a questionnaire. Public meetings will be held April 16th 17th, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Municipal Country Club. Final recommendations will be presented in May.
