Man Has Been Re-Enacting Military Battles for 30 Years

Posted: Updated:

A military performer teaches an often overlooked piece of North Dakota history.

Steven Reidburn has been re-enacting military battles for thirty years.

And Sunday, he speaks at the Heritage Center about the history of fighting on the frontier.

Reidburn wore an infantry soldier's dress uniform to the presentation.

He says the highlight of his career was being cast as a background actor in the movie "Gettysburg".

"I was there a week to ten days filming. I got to be part of the Battle for Little Round Top, The Battle of Devil's Den. It was fun. I had a great time and it was nice meeting people from all over the United States that were part of it," says Steve Reidburn.

Today was the second of this year's Sensational Sundays programs organized by the State Historical Society.

The events are free and open to the public.

Two westbound semi trailers were swept off the road and had to be pulled out early Sunday, and some eastbound vehicles were stranded until the water receded enough to let them proceed.
