With five months until the 2013-2014 school year, already more than 500 students have registered for kindergarten in the Bismarck Public Schools.
As of today, 580 children have registered for kindergarten in the district.
As you might remember back in August, the district was running out of room for all the new students enrolled for THIS school year, and had to get creative to make additional classrooms for the kids.
Currently the district has around 980 kindergarten students and Superintendent Tamara Uselman expect they'll enroll at least that many next school year, if not more.
"We're prepared for the numbers, we know we might have to get created, people would think with the new school coming online mid year and the reconfiguration of sixth grade out we'd have tons and tons of room, that's not the case, so we're being conservative and very mindful and ready to go with whatever we are sent," Superintendent Tamara Uselman said.
Uselman recommends that parents who haven't enrolled their child for kindergarten yet --- do so soon, so the district can start to have a better idea of how many new students they'll need room for.
