One man is dead following a shooting in downtown Williston early this morning. The Williston Police Department says a 28-year-old man was shot following a verbal altercation with a male in front of Heartbreakers at 5 Main Street, Williston. The shooting took place shortly before 1 a.m. Officers found the victim lying in the street and he died shortly afterward at Mercy Hospital. Detective Cory Collings says the suspect took off northbound on foot. The suspect is described as a white male, about 40's, short dirty blonde to brown hair, about five feet - nine inches tall and about 170 pounds. Police ask that anyone with information about the incident call the Williston Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 701-572-8477.
