State Spelling Bee Champion

They're some of the toughest words in the English language -- and 5th -- 6th- and 7th graders from across the state make them look easy. The annual spelling bee is held in Bismarck this afternoon. 95 county spelling bee winners from across the state participated in the annual event.

But in the end, it was Taylor Roehl from Grant County Junior High that took home the gold.

She won with the word "Debenture".

"It feels great, I was so surprised, just amazed.. it takes a lot of work," said Taylor Roehl.

Taylor is from New Leipzig. She'll go on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC May 28th.
