Before that summer vacation time arrives, inside activities are still best --- and it's a good weekend for them.
The 42nd annual Minot Rifle and Pistol Club Gun Show is being held today and tomorrow at the North Dakota State Fair Center.
The title "Gun Show" is just a small part of what is being shown at the fairgrounds this weekend.
From literature and paintings, to ammunition and accessories, the annual show attracts people from all over the state and further.
With hunting and fishing being a big part of North Dakota living, you could have expected quite a crowd at the show.
Along with companies showing what they have to offer when it comes to ammunition, a competition is held with prizes for the best looking and operating guns and knives.
Last year the organization combined the Gun Show with the Northern Plains Knife Collectors Association Show and had great success, so they carried the combination into this year as well.
(Wallace Darkow, "Wally's World of Knives") "Overall it's just a great show, a lot of entertainment for a small price."
The Gun Show will continue tomorrow from 9 to 4.
