"Igniting Innovation" is the slogan for this years North Dakota Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership conference.
Future Business Leaders of America, more commonly known as FBLA, is an organization for high school students interested in careers in business, or developing their leadership skills.
The State FBLA Leadership conference is held every spring; and this year over twelve hundred students from fifty different chapters from all over the state are attending.
The main activity going on over the next couple of days with these young entrepreneurs is a competition with various business and leadership related events.
These are focused on covering all areas of business and technology.
The students will be competing by doing things such as interviewing, impromptu speeches, network design, accounting, and much more.
The technology events include database design and digital video production.
Besides competitions, there are leadership workshops, service projects, college tours, and social events for the students.
(Kelly Scholl, State Advisor for ND FBLA) "Our mission is to bring business and education together in unique partnerships to help students prepare for those careers and in developing unique projects to prepare them for those careers."
The Leadership Conference is being held tonight through Tuesday afternoon, when awards will be given to the competition winners.
