It's a common concern voiced by county officials all across northwestern and north central North Dakota -- road issues.
Increased traffic from ag and oil has led to the quick deterioration of many roads in the region.
Today at the Elmer Jesme Conference of county officials, they heard from Paul Benning with the state D-O-T.
He shared with them what exactly they are dealing with...
Take for example this section of highway 1806.
The top picture is from September of 2010...and the bottom is just seven months later...it is almost unrecognizable.
(Paul Benning - NDDOT) "This is kind of the poster child of what a lot of the roads do like so that is why we are trying to go forward using these oil impact funds to help the counties out."
County officials voiced their hope that the Legislature would follow through with more funding for counties to deal with problems they are seeing on their roadways.
