Senator Heitkamp Responds To Bloomberg Ad

Posted:

Senator Heidi Heitkamp is criticizing New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg for a recent television ad airing in North Dakota.

The TV ad launched last week by a group supported by Bloomberg.

The ad urges senators to support background checks for everyone who purchases a gun.

Heitkamp says she wouldn't tell Bloomberg how to run his city, so there's no need for him to spend money on TV commercials in North Dakota.

<<"North Dakota is a very high percentage of gun ownership but a very low percentage of gun violence and so I always find it ironic when people with high rates of violence, cities or states want to tell states like North Dakota how they should deal with the second amendment," Heidi Heitkamp said.>>

About $156-thousand is being spent to run the ads in North Dakota.
