Dickinson Trinity Supt. Resigns, Board Relieved of Duties

The resignation of Dickinson Trinity's superintendent triggers major changes at the school.

Kelly Koppinger resigned effective April 1st.

A spokesperson for Bishop David Kagan says that decision has led to further changes.

All seven lay members of the Dickinson Catholic School Board were dismissed from their duties at last nights meeting.

The board also includes five priests.

The priests and bishop will act as superintendent. They released a statement saying the "governance of Dickinson Catholic Schools is being restructured."

The bishop's office says the plan is to gather new members at a later date.

Board chair Fr. Todd Kreitinger says the announcement will be in church bulletins and announced at services.

Kreitinger says Koppinger has taken another job but gave no reason for resigning so abruptly.

Koppinger had worked for the high school on two occasion. This was his second year back at Trinity.
