A teacher at Perkett Elementary got a free haircut today, thanks to his students.
In February, students participated in a school wide fundraiser called Jump Rope for Heart.
The program raises money for the American Heart Association and educates children about possible heart and diabetes risks.
This is the fifth year Perkett has been involved in the program.
The school-wide goal was to raise three thousand dollars.
They raised five thousand 716 dollars, almost two-thousand dollars more than any other year.
(Jason Steele, Physical Education Teacher) "Some of the older kids, the fifth graders, said, 'well if we raise three thousand can we shave your head?' And I said no because I thought they could get there and they said, 'what if we raise four?' I said okay, we'll do four and we went way above four so I'm getting my head shaved I guess." >
