Healthcare Workforce Development Workshop Held In Bismarck

Posted:

With North Dakota's booming economy, the healthcare industry is having a difficult time recruiting a quality workforce.

This afternoon a Healthcare Workforce Development Workshop is held in Bismarck, to show employers all the options available in recruiting and developing a healthcare workforce.

A few of the topics include the cost of employee turnover, workforce supply and demand and what people look for in jobs and careers.

Job Development Specialist, Larry Anderson says there's a number of initiatives underway in North Dakota to address the healthcare workforce needs.

"We are doing a number of things to grow and develop a well qualified high quality workforce for them and we need to engage with them so they're familiar with these programs and initiatives and they work along with us to help them help themselves," Larry Anderson said.

Today's workshop is the first of eight being held in the state this spring.

The next one will be in Minot on April 23rd.
