School Meeting Pushes Growth Process

Posted: Updated:

School officials were happy with the crowd last night at Magic City Campus that came out to learn about plans for an expanding school district...and how they can help shape the future of it.

The company hired to work with the district toward expansion had hoped for 100 to 150 people...and more like 250 were in attendance.

D-L-R Group principal Christopher Gibbs says it is a great starting point to move forward now with developing plans that can be presented to the community for growth opportunities with Minot Public Schools.

So what is next?

The group will take the information gathered and generate different options for the citizens to consider.

He says without community input -- like last night -- creating options can be tough...so now, moving forward is more manageable.

(Christopher Gibbs, AIA - DLR Group Principal) "We will take that information and it just becomes building blocks that overtime we start to look at options and decisions we look at those things and the information between the information and decide...we go down this path vs. this path."

The next community meeting is planned for early May.

He says the goal is to have three or four options for the community to consider, and comment on to ensure the crafting of plan that is acceptable to citizens.
