Dry Conditions Mean Low River Levels Along Missouri

Posted:

The Army Corp of Engineers makes a stop in Bismarck tonight for one of several public meetings being held in cities along the Missouri River Basin.

The corp is updating the public on current hydrologic conditions and planned regulation for the Missouri during the summer months.

As of right now, water levels along the Missouri River will be similar to last year, due to dry conditions.

"Our predictions are that the runoff this year will be again below normal, and that's based on the fact that we have below normal snow pack in the mountains and also on most of the plain areas and very dry soil conditions throughout the basin," Jody Farhat said.

The next public meeting will be held tomorrow, April 10th in Pierre, South Dakota.
