Plans For Bismarck Park and Rec Facilities

Four Bismarck Parks and Rec facilities might be getting some upgrades.

Tonight an open house is held for the public to provide comments and take a look at some of the different possibilities for improvements.

Three of the four facilities are being discussed, including Schaumberg Arena, the World War Memorial Building and Capital Racquet and Fitness Center.

"All of the facilities that we are looking at are older facilities, they need some updates and enhancements in addition to that we have some accessibility concerns in those facilities and a couple of them we have some capacity issues, where we need to expand space to meet program needs," Executive Director of Bismarck Parks and Recreation, Randy Bina said.

Kristen Morris wants to hear about plans for Capital Racquet and Fitness.

Morris is the Vice President for the Bismarck Gymnastics Academy and says they need more room.

"We have a lot of kids and no space for them and so we hate turning people away, we'd like to see more in our program and to see it grow, and to do that we need some more space," Kristen Morris said.

Another open house will be held tomorrow, April 17th to discuss improvements to Hillside Pool.

It will be held at the Municipal Country Club, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
