Around Town -- April 19, 2013

Posted: Updated:

It's the newest thing in Bismarck.  Business and retail -- "condos" -- coming soon near the North WalMart.

"Skyline, which is a retail and business 'condo' unit, so it's kind of unique to Bismarck, because they're offering the units for sale so you can have your own business condo on the second floor, operate your own office, and you can have a retail store on the main floor, and you'll be able to own it yourself," says George Yineman, Realtor/Partner of Aspen Group.

The retail floor is being anchored by another new-to-Bismarck establishment -- Dunn Bros Coffee -- complete with drive-thru.  A second retailer -- Once Upon A Child -- just signed a purchase agreement at the location.

On the upper floor, the business condos are nearly half occupied, and already include a chiropractor.  Four professional suites are still available for sale -- and who wouldn't want to work in a building with a coffee shop?  Accounting for weather delays, Skyline Crossing is expected to open in July.

There's more.

Skyline Crossing Two -- just south of the Wingate Hotel -- breaks ground this Summer.
It will also house retail -- possibly more restaurants -- on the first floor, and professional suites on the second.  The difference is all spaces will be available for lease.

"The North end of Bismarck is really coming of age.  I mean since we've heard about the medical announcements up North and we're starting to see all these developments and we have new hotels in the neighborhood, we're really seeing a lot of activity," says Yineman.

Bismarck gets a Boot Barn -- actually, two -- and Dickinson gets one too.  RCC Western Store is being transformed.  The mall location will close April 22nd and 23rd, and the Northside store will close April 23rd.  They'll both reopen on April 24th under the Boot Barn banner with brand new product.

A grand opening celebration is planned for May 3rd to the 5th with giveaways and price drops.  The Dickinson store is expected to open near the end of May where they're hiring for all positions.  Boot Barn and RCC Western Store merged in October.
