Student Spotlight: Powers Lake

Posted: Updated:

Time for tonight's Student Spotlight where we meet top high school seniors in the region.

This time, Powers Lake, where two young men tied for the valedictorian crown.

(Jesse Lawrence, Powers Lake Senior) "The best thing that's helped me to do well is the small class sizes. Less students in a class with one teacher makes it easier for me to learn."

(Keegan Maruskie, Powers Lake Senior) "Small classes, everyone's getting along, all the teachers are really personable and helpful and it's easy to talk to one another and get the help."

(Jesse Lawrence, Powers Lake Senior) "My favorite classes are math and any computer courses I can get because those are the ones I really excel at. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Helseth because she's the bomb!"

(Keegan Maruskie, Powers Lake Senior) "Definitely ag and math. I love building and I love wildlife and math."

(Jesse Lawrence, Powers Lake Senior) "I'm not sure about next year but I want to go into something with computer graphics, graphic design and those kinds of things. Not sure about what college yet."

(Keegan Maruskie, Powers Lake Senior) "NDSU. I'm not sure on a major yet but hopefully architecture maybe, or else if not that sports medicine doctor."

Congratulations to the top graduates at Powers Lake High School.

These are this year's honor students.
