Work Related Deaths On The Rise In North Dakota

The number of jobs North Dakota's economy is creating might be on the rise, but so is the number of work related deaths.

Tonight people gather to remember the 34 workers who died in work related accident in 2012 on the front steps of the state capitol.

A flower was laid next to an American flag for each person killed on the job.

Everyone from lawmakers to those who've been impacted by a relative dying in a work related accident come out to pay their respects.

"I had a brother that was killed back in 2006, he fell from a tower crane and I just believe all these workers have died and many people don't even realize the number of people that die for no reason on the job," Debbie Miller said.

More people die from work related accidents in other states, but North Dakota has the most deaths per capita.
