"Bump, set, spike against cancer" is the slogan for Minot State University's fundraiser for volleyball player Alex Parrone.
Alex is a freshman at MSU, and in February was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
While Alex sits at her home in Peoria, Arizona, recovering from treatment, the medical bills are quickly piling up.
Minot State's Public Relations class decided to do something significant to help Parrone and her family.
The fundraiser will be held tomorrow night at the MSU Dome.
Games include a ROOT beer pong tournament, volleyball, pie eating contests, and more.
All proceeds from the event will go towards helping Alex's family pay her medical bills.
The instructor of the class putting on the event says it's going to be a fun way to come together to help one girl.
(Audra Myerchin, Asst. Communication Arts Professor, MSU) "It just sounds like a lot of fun, you know some different games that we wouldn't have normally happening here in Minot, you know, some "minute to win it" sort of type games, and I think that that would be a lot of fun, you know even for high school students to come out, or anyone, you know, to come out and enjoy some pizza, root beer floats, and have something that we wouldn't normally have."
The event is tomorrow night from 6 to 9, and is open to the public.
Admission is five dollars and there will be pizza and root beer floats for a dollar each.
