Lowest Springtime Gasoline Prices in Three Years

Posted: Updated:

For the third year in a row, Springtime gas prices are lower.  Experts say prices could drop even more into Memorial Day, if current trends in lower oil prices, weak demand and ample refinery production continue.

"Gasoline prices are doing a counter-seasonal move.  They're declining at this time of year, because the economy is not picking up like the stock market would imply.  It's hard for North Dakotans to put their heads around that the East Coast-West Coast is still not much better than it was years ago," says Eugene Graner, President, Heartland Investor Services, Inc.

Nationally, gas prices averaged $3.55 per gallon in April.  The average price in Bismarck is currently $3.65.
