Wal-Mart still has plans to build on North Hill in Minot...but roadblocks still exist to getting it built here -- on a piece of land that has been eyed by the giant retailer for some time. City officials said today that negotiations are still ongoing with the owner of this land that Wal-Mart would like to use. The city has guidelines that must be met before approval would come. Wal-Mart has indicated that they will build on North Hill somewhere...and if this site doesn't progress, they would look elsewhere. Speaking of Wal-Mart, the existing Supercenter is set to get a facelift. The outside of the building will soon have a fresh look and less signage.
Home Depot has been given the green light to build here -- in South Minot...but it won't be long before you can buy product from the home improvement retailer. A temporary site has been installed over the last few weeks...and it will open next Thursday. A similar site is planned for Williston, as the retailer studies if it wants to build a full Home Depot location there soon as well.
On 20th -- a rebranding of RCC Western Ware is complete. BootBarn, which is the largest western and work wear retailer in the US, acquired RCC last year has taken over implementing their branding as well. The change happened in Bismarck, Fargo, and Grand Forks as well. Nationwide, Boot Barn has 117 stores . A 118th is planned for later this year in Dickinson.
