Session Impressions As One Senator Heads Home

Posted: Updated:

KX caught up with Senator Jim Dotzenrod (D) of Wyndmere today on his way out of town after the legislative session wrapped earlier this morning.

The Senator says while he's satisfied with the work lawmakers did in three key areas -- infrastructure, education funding and tax relief -- a major test going forward will be whether funding to the oil regions is adequate:  "I think it'll be a question that's going to be asked all the way through these next two years into the next session is how well are we responding and is this money being put to good use?  Is it adequate?  Are we solving some of these problems up there?  Are things getting better?"

Senator Dotzenrod, among others, will be back in two years to answer these and many other questions resulting from North Dakota's 63rd Assembly.
