Student Spotlight: Rubgy

Posted: Updated:

She plans to run track for the University of North Dakota next year and may major in music.

Let's meet the top graduate from Rugby High School in tonight's Student Spotlight.

Here's Aubrey Hovland.

(Aubrey Hovland, Rugby Senior) "I didn't want to look back and wish I had done a little better on one test and not gotten As. My original plan was to get straight As and it just went from there. The teachers were great and they helped me as much as I needed and they were very fun to have too. I really like science - my teacher Ms. Hagen taught physical science and that was a lot of fun. I like chemistry because it's interesting to me. I like music a lot so I'm taking a lot of music classes and Ms. Hill has been a big help with that over the years. I do a lot of sports, volleyball, cross country, track, and basketball and I'm involved in choir and band. It keeps me really busy because I have to practice a lot in all of them but it's worth it in the end to do well. I'm going to UND next year and will be in the track program and the music program. I don't know what I want to major in yet, I'm undecided, but I'm thinking of majoring in music but I'm not quite sure yet - I'll cross that road when I get there."

Congratulations to these honor graduates at Rugby High School.

A total of 33 seniors will be receiving their diplomas at graduation ceremonies on May 26th.

For more than 80 years, the International Peace Garden has been a blooming symbol of friendship between the US and Canada. Sitting astride the border separating North Dakota from Manitoba, the garden brings together woodlands, ponds, grassland, and amazing gardens to make its point.
