Mother's Day at the Dakota Zoo

Posted: Updated:

The Dakota Zoo is a zoo this Mother's Day!

Workers say it's been one of the busiest days so far this year.

Some of the main attractions include a dall sheep mom and her one day old baby.

The baby sheep is already up and following its mama's every move.

In another exhibit, a mom and her baby camel are quite the sight.

This baby camel was just born at the end of March.

While dozens of families flocked to the zoo--we caught up with one family who traveled from Minot--just to spend the day together looking at animals.

Elise and Jason Hobson had baby Aspen just six months ago.

They share why this first Mother's Day is extra special.

"It means quite a bit for us, we struggled to conceive for a long time and actually had a loss two years ago on this day, so it means a lot to be able to celebrate Mother's Day." says Elise Hobson.

The Dakota zoo is now open daily from 10 to 7.
