Student Spotlight: ORCS

Posted: Updated:

He plans to have a long career in the military.

Let's meet Alex Schoenwald-Carton, the top graduate this year at Our Redeemer's Christian School in Minot in tonight's Student Spotlight.

Alex Schoenwald-Carton, ORCS Senior) "I think a big part of what made me excel is my parents, they really pushed me to get the best grades I possibly could. They knew I could do well so they pushed me to do so. I'd have to say my favorite subject is choir - I really like to sing. My choir teacher is Lynette Tonneson. Another subject I quite enjoyed was science, taught here by Ellen Redding - she always made it very enjoyable and just to have fun in class. I don't do a lot here, every once in a while we had a school musical and I've been in a couple of those and I help out sometimes with sound for our elementary musicals. I do a lot of stuff outside of school such as community theater and choirs like that. Next year I will be going to basic training for the Army Reserve and after that I plan on going to North Dakota State University to major in mechanical engineering and study to become an officer in the Army. My career plan is to become an officer in the Army for a full 20 years at least."

Congratulations to Alex and these honor graduates at Our Redeemer's Christian School in Minot.

A total of 17 seniors will be getting their diplomas on May 26th.
