Law Enforcement Officer of the Year

Posted: Updated:

Day after day law enforcement officers risk their lives to protect civilians.

Today some of the finest law enforcement officers in Minot received some well earned recognition for a job well done.

Officers from the Minot Police Department, Sheriff's Department, and Minot Air Force Base were in attendance for the "Respect for Law Luncheon".

The Optimist Club of Minot hosted the event and presented Sergeant Nathan Drost (Draw-) with the Officer of the Year Award.

Drost is a criminal investigator at the Minot Air Force Base.

He has been in Minot since 2002 and says the award is an honor and surprise.

(Sgt. Nathan Drost, Criminal Investigator, MAFB) "It's truly an amazing feeling. It's humbling to be here with all the local law enforcement officers I work with day in and day out and all of the Minot Optimist Club members to be able to accept this award. I didn't expect it when I was told that I was being submitted for it. I didn't think I would win it and so it feels really good and at the same time humbling."

Drost wanted to thank his wife and his colleagues for the award.
