Trinity Health announced today that it is closing the Trinity Community Clinic in Parshall starting July.
The plan is to consolidate the operations of that clinic to the clinic 19 miles away, in New Town.
Trinity officials say having
two clinics so close to one another in a rural setting makes employment difficult.
Vice president of Trinity Administration Thomas Warsocki says the new regulations and decrease in reimbursement has made it more difficult for one-provider clinics to maintain operations.
The hope is that by combining the facilities into a three-provider clinic, efficiency will be better maintained and employment will be higher.
(Thomas Warsocki, Vice President, Trinity Administration) "Staffing in that Parshall - New Town area has been very difficult for the last 2 years. Our turnover at those 2 clinics has been very very high. From an economic standpoint, we've been running that clinic at a loss for a number of years."
The Trinity Community Clinic in Parshall will be closed as of July 1st of this year.
