Around Town -- May 24, 2013

Posted: Updated:

Mandan's getting pizza and Bismarck has new glasses.  This and more in today's "Around Town."

In just a few weeks, Little Caesars will break ground at Sixth and Third in Mandan -- right next to Spirit of Life Church.  They'll have a drive-thru, plus 2,000 square feet of additional space available for rent.  Owners say it's been more than 15 years since a large national fast food franchise made Mandan its home.  Mandan Little Caesars expects to have your pizza ready by this Fall.

The transformation on West Broadway in Bismarck has readied Blink Eyewear for its debut of unique glasses, including some exclusive lines.  They carry prescription and non-prescription, plus readers and sunglasses.  Blink is open Monday through Saturday.  You'll have to check out Blink's big glasses (on the pink wall) -- and their Facebook page too.

Bismarck's very own Chef Stuart Tracy of Pirogue Grille gets named in "Best Chefs America 2013."  The book is considered to be the "chef's guide to chefs."  To be included, chefs are nominated by other chefs, food professionals and enthusiasts.  "Best Chefs America 2013" was released this Spring and is available at bestchefsamerica.com.

Raging Rivers water park was set to open today, but due to weather, you'll have to wait until Monday.  Popular features such as "Member Mondays" and reduced twilight admission rates continue this year.  Weather permitting, they'll be open everyday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
