Students Still Enrolling in Bismarck Public Schools

More families continue to move to Bismarck which means the Bismarck School District continues to see more students registering for school.

Last year the district enrolled about 400 NEW students, and Superintendent Tamara Uselmen says they expect the same this school year.

Uselman says the district is growing just like she expected, but until the new schools get built, class sizes might be larger than she'd like.

"Anywhere on this spreadsheet where you see red is where we are starting to have large class sizes again, we had 54 large class sizes we got it down to seven, it's starting to creep back up to where now we have 10 of them," Superintendent Tamara Uselman said.

Large class sizes were reduced because the district moved sixth grade from the elementary schools to middle school.

But with more and more students enrolling those large class sizes are once again on the rise.
