Video Technology Brings Military Families Together

Posted: Updated:

Face to face communication technology has grown throughout the years.

And another group will benefit from its use.

A new Military Family Contact program is being launched.

Thirty-eight libraries in North Dakota received a new laptop computer with video contact capability.

The computers are for the use of military families to contact loved ones serving outside of the state.

"We thought it was just an absolutely great idea. How libraries can communicate with families or help families communicate with one another throughout the world is something that was not available in this state and we thought it was a great idea," says Wilbur Stolt, Director of Libraries, University of North Dakota.

The libraries will have both night and weekend hours making the computers more accessible for families.
