United Way Collecting for Babies

Posted: Updated:

Members of Live United are asking you to join them in a one of a kind baby shower.

The Minot Souris Valley branch is hosting a Community Shower, and they are asking for a number of items ranging from diapers, baby wipes and lotion to tooth brushes and tooth pastes.

Adult personal care items like shampoo and shaving cream are also being accepted.

The event will run from 10 until 6 tomorrow at the Dakota Square Mall between Barnes and Noble and the food court.

Executive Director of the Souris Valley Branch says the items are difficult to get on a low income budget and can really help someone in need.

(Pat Smith, Executive Director, Souris Valley United Way) "It's another way to give back to the community, if you want to help out someone in need it's a simple way to go to the store purchase some items like diapers, bring them down to the Dakota Square Mall tomorrow and it will go to a good cause.

All items collected will be donated to food pantries and shelter programs in Minot.

Smith hopes to put on the event every year.
