Popularity of Dock Dogs Takes Off

Posted: Updated:

Dozens of dogs are going for a "fun jump" out at McDowell Dam.

It's an effort to start a North Dakota Dock Dogs chapter.

The closest club is Hastings Minnesota.

Organizers say it's such a popular event at the Sports Show every year, they wanted to see if local dogs are up to snuff to start their own chapter.

Judging by the big crowd of spectators, and big jumps by the dogs, it's definitely taking off in the area.

"I think it's something new to the area that draws everybody there, who doesn't love a dog, all the dogs that come down here are friendly to everybody, so I think that's the big draw." says Joelle VanderLinden/Fun Jump Organizer.

"I just like having fun with the dogs..." says Jeran Breienbach/Bismarck.

"He's usually a crowd favorite, he stands out, the kids love him, he loves the kids, he usually, he gets a good crowd following (laughs)." says Jessie Evoniuk/Fairfield.

She's talking about Roscoe her Newfoundland.
