BSC Student Union Construction to Bring Changes

Posted: Updated:

Bismarck State College is undergoing many changes in the next couple years.

One of them being the student union.

It was built in 1974 and has long outgrown the campus population.

With over 4,000 students attending BSC, it's time to expand and remodel.

A brand new dining center is under construction on the north side of the building.

Students will also be able to look forward to more space.

"Right now, the space is really small and compartmentalized. And we really wanted it, it's a student union so we wanted it to be for the students and we wanted it to be something that they would enjoy so they had a lot of input into the process - both the student government association and student body as a whole. And, you know, they really like the concept of open spaces," says Tamara Barber, Associate Vice President of Finance, BSC.

Construction is expected to be fully complete by 2015.
