Sleepy Hollow Sets Stage

Posted: Updated:

It's been a dream for several years now for Sleepy Hollow's Summer Theater Program to have a brand new stage.

And this summer, phase one is complete.

Students have been rehearsing at Century High School for the past few weeks and will be moving out to Sleepy Hollow this weekend.

One of the changes the kids will notice is a safe, level surface to perform on.

The stage is also elevated so the audience will have a better viewing experience.

Those who are veterans of the theater program are excited about the new improvements and those to follow in the next few years.

"It provides us with storage in the basement, a safe shelter for all of our students if the weather gets difficult outside. It also provides us with an orchestra pit so that the orchestra now has a wonderful home that is really close to what they would find in a professional performing atmosphere," says Dan Walstad, Artistic Director of Sleepy Hollow Summer Theater.

Walstad says the audience can look forward to more interesting staging.

And students will have a more professional education especially in the technical side of theater.
