First Western Insurance is expanding in Minot -- and this location at 320 16th St. NW is a temporary home for now until the new bank is built at the site of the new MarketPlace Foods on North Hill. First Western has added seven new staff to the insurance wing this month along...so they needed the space now to hold them over until the new facility is constructed.

Oil...has led to chocolate in Williston. Lynden Chocolate and Candy Shoppe opened this spring at 1127 2nd Ave West. It is a family owned company that hit a rough patch with slow business on the west coast...so the move to Williston was made. Now just a few months into operation, it is proving to have been the right move.

(Eric Westlund - Manager) "Work was just getting slow for my family and my dad heard about Williston and the opportunities and we took a visit and decided that there could be a chance and they were able to grab a hold of this place."

Give in to your sweet tooth and check out one of their specialties...a chocolate/peanut butter concoction.

Finally, in the Kohls parking lot you'll see plenty of activity -- the ground has been broken on the new Panera Bread location we told you about a few weeks ago. Look for an opening here later in 2013. With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
