Members of the Minot Air Force base received experience in possible worst case scenarios today.
An exercise on the base simulated a high jacked passenger plane.
Troops were told to treat the task as if an unspecified chemical was released on the plane.
All emergency teams were used for the exercise including: EET, Task Force, and Fire Department.
The objective was to detain the high jacker, secure the safety of the passengers and tend to the wounded.
Exercises like these are common at the Air Force Base.
Simulations like this one help to prepare troops for real life situations.
(Mark Bell, Public Affairs) "The potential for disasters, tragedies to happen is always there so we have to be as best prepared as we can. So we come up with scenarios and evaluate ourselves on how we respond and if things need to be changed the way we do things, then the evaluation team will identify those changes and they will be implemented."
