Around Town -- June 28, 2013

Posted: Updated:

From self improvement to home improvement, it's all in this week's "Around Town."

"I am bringing the best Western store in town -- or in North Dakota.  It is called Country Soule, and we are going to have boots and hats and clothing -- men's and women's and kids.  We're going to have it all," says Cara Hochgraber, Owner of Country Soule.

The new Western store will also carry unique jewelry and furniture from places like Arizona and New Mexico.  Country Soule opens in just a couple weeks at 1012 South 12th Street in Bismarck.  Watch for their grand opening celebration on August 9th and 10th.

Once a staple on Main Streets across America, barber shops seem to be more rare these days.  Not to worry in Mandan, as Mike's Barber Shop is relocating to the Jake's Auto Glass building.  Mike's formerly operated in Williston for 21 years.  "Well, the biggest thing about what I do that keeps me doing it is the people.  You know, everybody's got their own stories, and I've got mine.  I've got a few to share," says Mike Eldred, Owner of Mike's Barber Shop.

The shop focuses on men's and children's haircuts.  Walk-ins are welcome.

You'll soon see construction at Menards.  They're expanding their outdoor storage space on the North edge.  The City assures the trail and green space next door will not be impacted by the expansion.

That's not all -- a new firearms store just opened.  Shooters -- just off the Bismarck Expressway across from Sam's Club -- sells and trades guns, including military and antique pieces.  Around Town will have more soon.
