Basin Electric Constructs New Parade Float

Posted: Updated:

This year, the Mandan 4th of July parade will feature one float that has a little more flare to it.

Today, Basin Electric held a kickoff to celebrate and christen their new parade float.

CEO Andy Serri says nearly 130 Basin employees and their families will be walking in the parade.

And walking next to the float will be three lucky workers operating 12 and a half foot marionettes.

Employees were excited to take a look at the final product.

"This one was totally designed, built, assembled, by the employees. This is hand built in one of our employee's shops garages. The ideas, the background, all came from the employees and it's a true reflection of Basin and their members," says Andy Serri, CEO of Basin Electric.

Serri says the final preparations will consist of making sure the float is safe for the families and children.
