Obstacle Course Challenges Runners at The Event

Posted: Updated:

The heat is on today as hundreds of people gather together to take on a nearly three mile long obstacle course.

Stephanie Scheurer takes us to The Event at Huff Hills in Bismarck.

This enthusiastic group all decked out in rainbow socks and tutus didn't know what they were in for when they decided to take part in this event.

"I want the mud. I don't know, I can't wait to go over the wall. I'm just excited to be done," says "The Neons."

This grueling obstacle course race at Huff Hills has attracted hundreds of brave souls from around the area ready to take on the elements.

"I think some people are excited about the obstacles and some people are scared of them. But it really depends on the person. Everybody's looking forward to a different one. I know from the bottom, a lot of people are looking up and seeing the wall and they're a little bit intimidated but it's going to be a lot of funAndy Beck, Mountain Operations Manager.

Stand-up: "It's a hot one here today at Huff Hills and this obstacle course is challenging. But the racers will be in for a few...cool surprises."

"If they have the electric fence and jumping into the ice pool of water then that at the end of the race would be great," says Cameron Keller.

The Event brings laughs and cheers to many runners.

And for The Neons, it means more than just a workout.

"I guess just doing it together. Yes family - brother sister."

And after three miles of mud, sweat, and tears (of laughter that is), the finish line awaits.

In Bismarck, Stephanie Scheurer, KX News.

Partial proceeds of The Event will go to the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation.
