Fireworks Stands Report Big Sales

Posted: Updated:

Independence day is just around the corner, and with so many out-of-state people now living in North Dakota, fireworks are becoming an even bigger part of the celebration.

North Dakota is one of the few states in the US to allow individuals to buy fireworks for their own entertainment.

The law in the majority of our country says that fireworks are only legal if it's an approved, organized showing.

So, with the influx of out-of-staters here in North Dakota, fireworks are a hot topic.

The owner of North 83 Fireworks says that in the past couple of weeks, he has seen his fair share of excited customers new to North Dakota who can't wait to set them off.

(Rick Vondal, Owner of N. 83 Fireworks) "They'll say "Oh, we don't get to shoot this," or "We're not allowed to have them in our state." So you go through and explain what a lot of them do. And you can see they get excited, and they always get something, leave, and always come back for more."

North 83 Fireworks are open now until July 5th from 8 am until midnight.
