Construction Along North Washington Street Finally Complete

Posted:

Drivers will be in a much better mood now that construction is wrapping up on North Washington Street.

This afternoon crews are putting pavement markings on the street.

The street has been torn up off and on for most of the summer.

Initially a new water main was installed along the west curb line between Avenue D to Boulevard because the old main had a history of water main breaks.

Crews then re paved Washington Street from Boulevard to Avenue D.

Those striping the lines today say drivers are in a much better mood now that the road is almost complete.

<<"After the pavement's been down we come in and go ahead and put the pavement marking down, eight inch, arrows, double yellow just make sure everyone stays where they're supposed to be, You can see and tell it in the traffic with the people driving by, they smile a little more and they're not quite as angry with you," CJ Heer said.>>

Crews finished up painting the lines this afternoon.
