Director of Capitol Shakespeare From University of Nebraska

Posted:

In less than two weeks Capitol Shakespeare will make its return to the Bismarck State Capitol Grounds.

Ian Borden is the director of this years play, The Tempest.

Borden is the first outside director to come in and work with Capitol Shakespeare.

He is a Professor at the Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska, but this summer he's also teaching a class at Bismarck State College and directing the Tempest.

He says the Tempest is one of his favorite plays.

"It's about a shipwreck on an island and they meet Prospero who is the Wizard there who's actually caused the shipwreck and caused his enemies to fall upon the island and in the midst of all that chaos Mirando and Ferdinand meet each other and of course they fall in love," Ian Borden said.

You can see the Tempest for free from July 24th through July 28th at 6:30 p.m. on the State Capitol Grounds.
