Williston Airport Sets Another Record

Posted: Updated:

Airports in Williston and Dickinson set records for passenger boardings in June.

The state Aeronautics Commission reports boardings more-than tripled at Williston's Sloulin Field last month.

The number of passengers went from under 25-hundred in June of 2012, to more than 75-hundred this June.

That brings the total for the first half of the year in Williston to 39,230, more than double the first six months of last year, and about eight times the number of passengers who boarded in Williston five years ago.

In Dickinson, boardings jumped 51% in June to more than 31-hundred.

Fargo and Grand Forks also had double-digit percentage increases in June.

Minot's passenger boardings dropped about five percent in the month, but for the first six months of 2013, boardings in Minot are on pace with last year's record figure.
