The fair isn't the only obstacle when it comes to traffic in the area these days.
You will find road construction, to some extent, in nearly every part of the Magic City.
Kelli Volk took a tour around town to get the details on the latest projects.
This sight can be seen all over Minot as many road construction projects take shape in the Magic City.
The 55th Street overpass bridge is nearing completion to crew members continue to work on the north side of the bridge.
One construction official says the 1100 foot bridge could be ready for use in the near future.
(Jeff McElwain, Project Manager, Ackerman-Estvold)"This week we're doing the concrete paving on the north end, making some connections to the existing 4th Avenue. We're painting the bridge, getting that all sealed up. So, we're hoping in a couple of weeks we'll be about wrapped up and open to traffic."
As crew members finish this project, a new one is starting.
The 6th Street Underpass is getting a makeover with plans to lower the roadway at the underpass and fix the sewer system.
A spokesman for the project says the renovation will alleviate a long-time problem for the city of Minot.
(Bob Lindee, PIO, City of Minot)"Anybody that's lived here for a length of time knows that pretty much whenever it rains that intersection down there floods."
The underpass closes in Mid-July and should open back up for traffic in late October.
Construction is also set to begin on the west side of Minot on the US 83 bypass.
The project includes paving the entire length of the road, improving turn lanes, and adding a new signal system.
One project official says drivers will be affected by the construction.
(Don Mohagen, Engineer, NDDOT)" There will be sections where there will be a pilot car, and flaggers, and speeds will be reduced, so it's going to impact the public."
This project is expected to be finished in October.
