The Bismarck State College Aquatic Center will soon be under new ownership.
This week the park board decided to purchase the facility and end its current lease with Streamline.
Every five years under the lease, the park district can decide whether or not to buy the facility and they said now is the right time.
Bismarck Parks and Rec Finance Director Augie Ternes says there should be no changes in the operation and BSC students will still have access to the facility.
"I think with the Park District owning that, we can make various improvements to the facility with the programs and the operation of the Aquatic Center," says Augie Ternes, Finance Director for Bismarck Parks and Rec.
Ternes also says they've seen a 16 percent increase in revenue from 2011 to 2012.
They hope to continue to see the facility being used more by members and for different events.
