You may notice a change in tradition as you walk through the admission gate at the state fair this year.
Most years, fair-goers receive a colored wristband for access to the North Dakota state fair.
This year, the fair is putting a new system into place and doing away with the daily wristbands.
Now when you walk through the gate you will get your hand stamped.
If you purchased one of the booklets for the entire fair, you can exchange it for one nine-day wristband.
North Dakota State Fair manager Renae Korlien, says the new system is a way for the fair to try new ideas.
The state fair will evaluate how the stamp system worked this year and decide if they will use it again next year.
