Clown Contest

Clown Contest

Posted: Updated:

There was no clowning around today at the fair's clown contest.

Families gathered to see the clowns from all over the US show their tricks.

Dizzy the clown and his crew have been coming to the North Dakota State Fair for 33 years now, and today was the annual competition to see which clown can get the most laughs.

This year, besides the adult clowns, there was a junior clown division for children as young as age 2 to compete.

From magic tricks to musical skits, the clowns kept the audience well-entertained at the show.

(Dizzy the Clown) "It's a family atmosphere, and there's all kinds of things for children to do out here. One of them is the clowns, and we would be glad to serve them with balloons or maybe some magic tricks from our pocket."

The clowns will be at state 20 behind the "kiddy kingdom" at the fairgrounds doing various shows and activities all week.
