This afternoon in a special meeting of the Minot City Council,
aldermen approved roughly four million dollars to improve community facilities in the Magic City on the first reading.
The funding will come from Community Facilities Sales Tax Fund, that was approved by voters in 2011.
Before the council could approve the funding though, the city attorney advised the council that steps would have to be taken to enter into an "enterprise" with the private-non-profits to meet the guidelines of North Dakota law.
Alderman Dave Lehner said with some of the requests it is in the best interest of the city for both entities to find a common goal to meet the "enterprise" statute.
