Pride of Dakota Day Showcases ND

Posted: Updated:

North Dakota proved that it has a little something for everyone after Pride of Dakota Day kicked off at the State Fair today.

The afternoon event was dedicated to showcasing North Dakota products.

Over 500 businesses belong to Pride of Dakota--22 of which were stationed under a tent at the State Fair today.

The day started with a hotdog lunch that was solely comprised of Pride of Dakota products, but it carried on into the afternoon with many more Pride of Dakota vendors.

Some of the items available included food items, art, jewelry and literature.

Although the event showcased local talent and ideas, North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner, Doug Goehring says North Dakota products reach a span far greater than the state borders.

(Doug Goehring, North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner)"We have some of our Pride of Dakota members that actually go a little more regional and maybe even national...how well these items are actually picked up and utilized by others across the nation. People are very interested in some of the good crafts and some of the good products that are produced by our member companies."
