Today was Military Appreciation Day at the State Fair - a day to recognize those who have served and continue to serve.
The day started with a free lunch for military families--but the fun didn't stop there.
Military families were treated to free rides on the Midway from 1-3.
Colonel Max Mitchell of the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base delivered a short message to military families earlier in the day.
He says military appreciation day is a great way for military personnel to experience Minot.

When the community will open their doors to us and bring us in and we can get away from the Base for a little while and not only see what the community has to offer, but get together for a great meal, great fellowship, and then also to enjoy the State Fair."
Today's military lunch was sponsored by the North Dakota Beef Commission.
