Military Day at Fair

Posted: Updated:

Today was Military Appreciation Day at the State Fair - a day to recognize those who have served and continue to serve.

The day started with a free lunch for military families--but the fun didn't stop there.

Military families were treated to free rides on the Midway from 1-3.

Colonel Max Mitchell of the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base delivered a short message to military families earlier in the day.

He says military appreciation day is a great way for military personnel to experience Minot.

(Col. Max B. Mitchell, U.S. Air Force, MAFB)"It means a lot--especially during the fabulous summers we have up here. When the community will open their doors to us and bring us in and we can get away from the Base for a little while and not only see what the community has to offer, but get together for a great meal, great fellowship, and then also to enjoy the State Fair."

Today's military lunch was sponsored by the North Dakota Beef Commission.

The possibility of a dangerous accident on the railroads of North Dakota is something that requires your local firefighters and emergency responders to be prepared for the worst.
